The King Steenie Oak Base Table Lamp has been constructed and shaped in our workshop from a solid block of oak to give subtle rustic texture to the lamp’s appearance. Its standout feature is the charismatic portrait of George Villiers’s in all his attire which has been distressed into the front surface by hand to create immense vertical perspective. Stained in black, the lamp has then been finished in a matte gold collar and black square tapered lampshade to bring the elegant artwork underneath to life. The UV art-worked areas have been fully protected in a hard glaze lacquer to give maximum durability to their surface. PAT test approved.

Artwork Information – George Villiers, 1st Duke of Buckingham (1592–1628), was a strikingly handsome, charismatic courtier who rose from minor gentry to become the dominant royal favourite, lover, and chief advisor to King James I and Charles I. As a powerful, controversial statesman and patron of the arts, he controlled patronage, amassed immense wealth, but faced intense public hatred for failed military campaigns before his assassination.
