The Queen Of Bohemia Oak Base Table Lamp has been constructed and shaped in our workshop from a solid block of oak to give subtle rustic texture to the lamp’s appearance. Its standout feature is the ghostly portrait of a winter queen which has been distressed into the front surface by hand to create immense vertical perspective. Stained in black, the lamp has then been finished in a brass collar and black square tapered lampshade to bring the elegant artwork underneath to life. The UV art-worked areas have been fully protected in a hard glaze lacquer to give maximum durability to their surface. PAT test approved.

Artwork Information – Portrait of Princess Elizabeth Stuart, later Queen of Bohemia, called the Winter Queen. Elizabeth’s standing collar of reticule is worked with the Royal coat of arms with its lion and unicorn supporters. She wears a gown of Italian silk brocade. The black armband is thought to be a sign of mourning for her brother Henry Frederick, Prince of Wales who died in 1612.
